Parent-Child Dedication
If you participated in the most recent Parent-Child Dedication, you will receive a special certificate in the mail. Please contact the church office if you do not receive the certificate within the next few weeks.
Parent-Child Dedication takes place twice a year on Sunday mornings during the 9:15 a.m. service. The next Parent-Child Dedication is Sunday, September 16.
At Maranatha Bible Church we believe children are a heritage and gift from God (Psalm 127:3). Therefore, we offer families an opportunity to publicly recognize each child as a gift from the Lord and dedicate him/her to God’s purposes. With this gift comes the responsibility to raise children according to the principles found in His Word. This public dedication is when parents, along with other family and friends, dedicate themselves to this high calling. We believe the body of Christ is called to come alongside families and assist them in loving and educating their children. We commit together to “train a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6).
Child dedication is not the means of salvation and eternal life in heaven for any child. Children have the opportunity to accept the free gift of eternal life when they are old enough to understand sin, forgiveness, and their need for a Savior. Until that time, we believe children are safe in God’s grace.
Questions Parents Ask:
- Is my child too old to be dedicated?
- What does it mean to dedicate my child?
- What is involved on my part to dedicate my child?
- Why should I dedicate my child?
To schedule your child’s dedication please call 330.645.2681. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, September 11.
