Baptism
Baptism will occur on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
Call the church office at 330.645.2681 if you would like to be baptized.
Dry Baptism
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”
- Romans 6:4 - “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
- What happens to the believer at the time of salvation?
- *Death (Galatians 2:20)
- *Burial (Romans 6:4)
- *Resurrection (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Wet Baptism
- A need for public confession (Romans 10:9-10)
- Water baptism was that public confession (Acts 2:38, 41)
- Water baptism identifies us with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4)
- Therefore, baptism is a command (Matthew 28:19)
